Praying Monk Dining Room at Sanctuary Resort on Camelback Mountain

The designer and architect R. Nicholas Loope, FAIA, were asked to reinvent an underutilized exterior patio that is situated at the base of the Praying Monk, a unique rock formation that sits prominently on Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The team created an interior dining space that could accommodate everything from corporate meetings to a small wedding banquet. Guests are escorted to the room through a 1,000 bottle wine cellar that the team also designed.
